Journal Entry Update: I was a little nervous yet excited, as this was my first time with hydroponics and starting seeds in Rockwool. I soaked the seeds in pH water overnight, and I soaked the rockwool cubes overnight in a ¼ strength super thrive and 5.5 pH water. I placed the seed in the cube the next day and kept it in a Tupperware container until it popped, then into the Root Spa 5 Gal Bucket System (sponsored by Higher Harvest in Bloomington).
On day 5 of the grow, I managed to get the seed up out of the rockwool and got the Root Spa 5 Gal Bucket System going along with the nutrients and another Active Aqua Air Stone (also sponsored by Higher Harvest) in the bottom of the bucket for more oxygen to the root system. I won’t have to change the water for a week after that, which compared to soil, is a welcome reprieve.
About growing: I have been rather obsessed with the plant since before I even smoked my first joint. I’ve been medicating with marijuana since I was 16, been in trouble for possessing the plant and never wanted to give it up. It has been the one medicine that satisfies most ailments I deal with, being pain, insomnia and stomach issues from an early age. I wouldn’t be able to afford it on the legal market as often as I need it if I couldn’t grow it.
