IDFPR conducts 3 corrective craft lotteries
Each of the last three days, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has announced results for a corrective lottery for conditional licenses, including Tied Applicant, Social Equity Justice Involved, and Qualifying Applicant lotteries.
Today, IDFPR announced results for the Tied Applicant Corrective Lottery, with 17 BLS Region drawings, conducted for up to 75 additional Conditional Adult Use Dispensing Organization Licenses (“Conditional License”). These three corrective lotteries were conducted pursuant to a court order, a copy of which is available here. The order states: “Those who obtain winning positions in any of the lotteries shall be awarded conditional licenses, but only if they prevail on the merits of their substantive claims, or if the Department agrees they constitute qualified applicants with the threshold number of points.”

Yesterday, IDFPR announced results of the Social Equity Justice Involved Corrective Lottery. The Social Equity Justice Involved Corrective Lottery drawings were conducted for up to 55 additional Conditional Adult Use Dispensing Organization Licenses.
To comply with this order, the Department has accounted for three prior abandonments in the original Social Equity Justice Involved Lottery: one in the West Central Illinois (BLS 15) region and two in the Chicago/Naperville/Elgin (BLS 5) region. Thus, in the Social Equity Justice Involved Corrective Lottery, the winning draw placements in the West Central Illinois (BLS 15) region were positions 1 and 2, and the winning draw placements in the Chicago/Naperville/Elgin (BLS 5) region were positions 1 through 38.

IDFPR also announced results of the Qualifying Applicant Corrective Lottery, with 17 BLS Region drawings, conducted on June 21, 2022 for up to 55 additional Conditional Adult Use Dispensing Organization Licenses (“Conditional License”). In addition, IDFPR will be accepting questions about the next steps for the 185 conditional dispensary licenses involved in last summer’s lotteries. Questions should be submitted to FPR.AdultUseCannabis@Illinois.gov between Monday, June 27, and Thursday, June 30, at 5 p.m.
IDFPR anticipates publishing answers to questions received during this period on the IDFPR website Friday, July 1. At this point in time, IDFPR is not providing individual guidance on the 185 conditional dispensary licenses to be awarded. For more Illinois cannabis industry news, click here.
