Jane and Mary’s Ice Cream launches new products
Nearly two years ago, June 28, 2020, Illinois News Joint featured a story on Jane and Mary’s Cannabis-Infused Ice Cream and its owner Jason. At the time, the minority-owned Chicago-based business was honing its skills while waiting for craft applicants to receive infuser licenses. Two years later, craft applicants are still waiting, but Jason has pivoted from handcrafted THC-infused ice cream and sorbet to super-premium gourmet treats made with 100% USDA certified organic CBD and medical grade Delta 8-THC.
After reviewing on Jane and Mary’s THC-infused ice cream, which was, and still is, the best cannabis products I’ve sampled from Illinois, I could not wait to review Jason’s new line of CBD and medical grade Δ8-THC ice cream and sorbet. I already know the ice cream is quality. He has been producing premium ice creams and frozen desserts for more than a decade. Out of the dozen or more flavors he has created, I enjoyed them all. Not one clunker.
Jason, who had spent the majority of his career as a social studies teacher, recently pivoted to creating the legal CBD and Δ8-THC products after the licensing process stalled. Currently, several retail stores in the Chicago area have Jane and Mary’s Cannabis-Infused Ice Cream and Sorbet in stock, including CBD Hutch, CBD Kratom, Clark Haus, Lit Glass and Vape, Riggity Wrecked, Riverside Foods, Smokey’s Smoke and Vape Shop, Vapetricity, and more to come in Illinois and nationwide.
I received a few samples of the 8-ounce cups of CBD and Δ8-THC ice cream and sorbet, including Strawberry Cream, Peanut Butter Fudge, Cookies and Cream, and Mango. The Δ8-THC cups included 150mg. The CBD cups included 50mg.
Again, Jason has honed in on topnotch flavors that could be on the shelf of any high-end homemade ice-cream parlor. The only question for me was the effects of the CBD and Δ8-THC. The CBD and Δ8-THC onset was quicker than normal CBD and Δ8-THC edibles. I medicated with them late at night while watching television or listening to music.
The Δ8-THC hit rather sudden with a tingling body sensation and overall relaxed feeling and a mild head high. The CBD delivered more of a muscle relaxation without any head high, and later in the buzz, caused slight sedation.
The Jane and Mary’s CBD cups I medicated with late at night, usually after I’d eaten a few homemade THC-chocolates. The CBD ice cream was a perfect addition and created stronger body effects to the body buzz I already had. I usually eat at least 40-50mg of THC edibles at night, and eating half-cup of CBD ice cream hit my sweet spot for body and muscle relaxation and sleeping aid.
Overall, I had no doubt Jane and Mary’s new lines of products were going to be great, and of course, they were. For those who love CBD and Δ8-THC infused products, Jane and Mary’s Ice Cream and Sorbet products are a must try.
