Illinois releases April and May medical cannabis sales totals
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today released April and May medical cannabis sales totals. The monthly numbers matched those from the first three months of the year, at around $13.4 million.
Retail sales of medical cannabis for April reached $13,486,413.70, including $6,645,955.92 in dry flower sales and $6,840,457.78 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 50,450 unique patients, who purchased 1,506,638 grams of dry cannabis.
Retail sales of medical cannabis for May reached $13,571,646.50, including $6,770,234.42 in dry flower sales and $6,801,412.08 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 49,853 unique patients, who purchased 1,493,904 grams of dry cannabis.
These totals track with medical sales numbers from the “new Medical Cannabis Patient Registry System,” which was launched in June 2025. The numbers of patients reported may vary between systems.
