Know Your Brand: Cannabis Infused from West Town Bakery
For our latest feature in the educational Know Your Brand series, we help introduce one of the newest brands and innovated products in the Illinois market, Cannabis Infused. Cannabis Infused launched November 2023 and is Illinois’ first “take-and-bake cake mixes that include fast-acting THC.” West Town Bakery, a renowned Chicago bakery and confectioner, has created three infused cake mixes: Fudge Brownie, Cannfetti Cake, and The Devil’s Food Cake.
The three cake mixes can be found at West Town Bakery’s sister stores, OKAY Cannabis Wheeling and OKAY Cannabis West Town. Each box promises a consistent experience, delivering a total of 50mg THC spread across 12 servings. This equates to a carefully measured 4.1mg of THC per slice, catering to consumers who appreciate a controlled and balanced euphoria.

Food and Beverage Director of Fifty/50 Hospitality Group, Chef Chris Teixiera, created the cake mixes, which takes effect in 15 minutes. Every box of mix comes complete with a baking tray in every package, online instruction videos and tips, and very simple-to-follow instructions for personal use or parties.
“We’ve incorporated a fast-acting THC powder into one of the most delicious brownies you’ll ever taste,” a Cannabis Infused representative said. “No more funky-tasting, poorly made ‘budder,’ and you’ll know the exact THC content in each brownie…This is genuinely the finest bake-at-home brownie on the market, cannabis-infused or not. We intentionally dose ours a little lower because trust us, you won’t be able to stop at just one.”
