I am certain the market for “classic” cannabis strains will always exist. Some strains have been around for so long that they were part of the cultural lexicon far before any state legalized. I always pick up these classics when I spot them and was delighted to find Maui Wowie Live Resin by Alchemy (IESO) during my recent visit to Consume Marion.

Maui Wowie is a sativa leaning cross of Hawaiiain and an unknown strain. This batch of live resin tested at 1.01% THC, 79.13% THCA, and 80.14% total cannabinoids.

The live resin had a delicate color resembling golden translucent straw. The wet crystalline sugar consistency was easy to work with and held together very well when building large doses. The high moisture content made the sugar “gel” together cleanly without crumbling.

Tangy fresh lemon, pineapple, thick pine, diesel, and hints of lavender made for a busy and aggressive aroma from the jar. The flavors held their tartness and complexity when vaporized at a low temperature.The fresh lemon and pineapple flavors were sustained throughout the experience and created an exhale reminiscent of candied citrus.

The effects were immediately uplifting, clear headed, and creativity-inducing highlighting the sativa genetics. This extract fit well into my day and kept me energetic, happy, and carefree for hours after dosing. Larger doses provided a considerable appetite boost and clear headed, self-reflective calm. Patients will find a clear picture of the tart tropical flavor and uplifting creative effects of Maui Wowie in this concentrate.
