Red, High, and Blue Afroman event cancelled
Inclement weather is always a risk when planning for outdoor events, but air quality safety hazards are not usually a concern event planners anticipate. However, because of central Illinois’ poor air quality, the Red, High, and Blue event, featuring Afroman, has been cancelled.
Jay Goldberg Events and Entertainment (JGee) contacted ticket holders via email tonight, stating, “Unfortunately, due to the poor air quality throughout Central Illinois right now we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Red, High, and Blue event with Afroman, originally scheduled for this Friday, June 30th. We’re here to have a good time, and with this being an outdoor event that would last for around 6 hours we don’t believe it would be the right thing to put the artists, our staff, and all of you in a harmful situation.”
JGee, joined with High Harbor Cannabis Lounge & Event Center and Kenny’s Westside Pub, has rescheduled the event for the rain (or smoke out) date of October 8, 2023. According to the email statement, “All tickets will be valid for the new date with no action required by you. If you are not able to attend the new date, you may request a refund through Friday, July 7th at 5pm CT. Please reach out to Etix customer support by calling 1-800-514-3849 or by filling out their contact form here.”
High Harbor, located at 1321 North Park Road in Peoria, is still scheduled to host the event with vendors, food trucks, entertainment, and more. The event is scheduled to start at 4:20 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. Attendees to this and other High Harbor events can openly smoke cannabis once inside the designated-smoking area and are free to bring and consume their own cannabis. Attendees must be 21 or older to enter. Ticket purchase and ID will be required for entry. No sales of cannabis at the event are permitted.
