Revolution is no stranger to awards with one of the label’s winningest strains also being one of its oldest, Alien Purple Kush. I recently stopped at Revolution Normal to pick up an eighth to review.

Alien Purple Kush is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of [Super Space Queen and Las Vegas Purple Kush] and [Chemdog and Alien Technology]. This batch of flower tested at 0.45% THC, 22.7% THCa, and 23.49% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were β-myrcene, a-pinene, β-pinene, β-caryophyllene, and limonene.

Classically shaped, each flower came to a Christmas-tree-style sharp point at the top. A bright lime green contrasted against patches of lilac purple and fire orange hairs. Tall and milky white trichomes covered every surface and glimmered in strong light. Soft and spongy, the buds had a lively spring back when pinched between my fingers.

A mélange of candied lavender, grape, and wildflower honey were framed by a strong sugar frosting note that sweetened the entire profile even further. The flavor of the smoke lost the extra sugary edge as notes of tangy diesel and lime were followed by the same lavender and grape from the aroma. The flavor coated the tongue with each hit but required multiple rounds to unlock the full flavor profile.

While Alien Purple Kush is marketed as an indica, the effect profile was more center spectrum hybrid. A smile overtook my face as a sense of peace replaced my baseline anxieties. Calm and centered, my mind was free to focus on work or to simply let go of worries and unwind. A warm wave of muscle relaxation trailed the mental shift. Starting in my shoulders before cascading to the rest of my body, the sensation relieved all but my toughest pain points.
