Review: Apple Fritter by Interstate 420
I’ve sampled a few “standard bearer” strains across multiple producers, states, and markets. Lumpy’s Apple Fritter is one of those strains. I recently spotted the strain on the menu at nuEra Urbana from Interstate 420, so I picked up an eighth to review.
Apple Fritter is a hybrid cross of Sour Apple and Animal Cookies. This batch of flower tested at 0.384% THC, 21.28% THCa, and 21.664% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.54% of the total weight with α-pinene, α-humulene, β-caryophyllene, and limonene being the most prevalent.

This eighth came as two chunky, roughly trimmed flowers with small peaks reaching out from the center. Olive-green and turf-green splotches obscured very light lilac purple surface tones and a small amount of fire orange hairs that had dried into the green surface. The flowers were very dense to the touch with little springback.
The scent inside the mylar was much more savory than I anticipated. Notes of freshly cut cedar wood, hops, cheese, and pine on the front concealed sweeter tones of heavy cream and pear. Slightly dry at the center of the bud, the flavor was more of the cedar, hops, and cheese from the top end of the aroma. All of the sweet tones detected on the back of the aroma disappeared.
Apple Fritter set in quickly with a band of pressure building on my brow before the bowl was finished. Relaxed with a wide-open awareness, Apple Fritter shifted my mental space but left my energy levels unchanged. Chronic inflammation in my back and joints disappeared and movement became looser and easier for the following forty-five minutes.
Overall, this was a much more savory representation of Apple Fritter than I was used to but the hybrid jack-of-all-trades effects were the same. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
