Review: Banana Milkshake by matter.
@Medsforheads
At many points throughout the year, I had declared to anyone who would listen that 2021 was the Year of the Bananas due to the spike in popularity and evolution of banana-themed strains. Making a fashionably late entry to the party was PharmaCann’s Banana Milkshake by matter.
I grabbed an eighth of the indica-dominant flower from Verilife River North with salivary glands at the ready as I parsed the flower’s deep and diverse lineage: [(Banana OG x Cherry Pie) x (Strawberry Diesel)] x (Chem OG x Daffie). While THCa is not the greatest attractor for me in a flower, I felt a tingle in my CB1 receptors looking at the figure of 29.09%.

The top strip of the bag had not even been fully torn off before a dank, skunky pungency charged my nostrils. The light green buds that made up the eighth were tight and rocky with a classic OG Kush structure. Even before manipulation, they smelled strongly of tennis balls, but after grinding, I closed my eyes and envisioned myself on the edge of a swimming pool filled with banana peels.
Testing at just 2.15% terpenes, the flower’s rather modest terpene content was powerfully expressed in both its smell and its taste. In descending order, Banana Milkshake’s most-represented terpenes were limonene, b-caryophyllene, b-myrcene, a-humulene, and linalool, offering a balanced effect and a dynamic sensory treat.

Among the newer Matter strains I’ve sampled recently, Banana Milkshake stood out for its impeccably smooth burn and clean, slightly floral flavor of bananas one or two days shy of ripeness. I tasted no harsh chemical spice and no excessive moisture, only cool, chest-expanding smoke that felt like the true culmination of dedicated breeding and cultivation efforts. Milky and sour notes permeated the blanket of banana like obstinate unblended chunks in a smoothie.
I found Banana Milkshake to be an effective bronchodilator when smoked, as well as an anti-inflammatory agent that flushed aches from my body. A joint evoked a pleasant head wobble, limber limbs and an influx of creative energy. I felt serene but wakeful, and as if an ostrich egg full of molten chocolate had cracked over my skull, oozing down to my feet.
I recommend this strain for artistic sessions, non-sedative pain management, and sheer enjoyment, as it gave me a taste of the mind-enhancing, giggly OGs that made their way around the traditional market as I was first learning to discern quality cannabis for myself.
