Review: Big Easy OG Sauce by Bedford Grow
Truly “funky” products are few and far between in Illinois’ legal market. Cultivators growing for the tastes of the general public usually lean into fruit or candy sweet flavors that tend to be popular. As someone that enjoys the weird and wild flavors cannabis can achieve (and really, the weirder, the better) I get excited when I come across something that is outside of the norm. So when I heard about a cross from Bedford Grow that may have some of these strange flavors, I was so excited to try Big Easy OG Sauce.
Big Easy OG, picked up from Maribis Springfield, is a hybrid cross of 818 SFV OG and The White. This batch of sauce tested at 47.15% THCa 8.86% D9-THC, 2.35% CBGa, and 58.57% total cannabinoids. The most abundant terpenes were b-myrcene, limonene, and b-caryophyllene with 15.95% total cannabinoids.
This gram came as a set of large, chunky diamonds in a very viscous pale amber terpene sauce. The diamonds in this batch were some of the biggest I’ve seen so far from Bedford Grow, and I actually ended up breaking several of them up to get a more even dose.ILNJ photo.
The nose from the jar was dense with a heavily funky blend of peanut butter, hot motor oil, diesel, wet earth, tobacco, and black pepper. The flavor carried that heavy peanut butter and motor oil alongside a surprising fresh hops not detected on the nose. This was one of the more complex aromas and flavors I’ve found in Illinois’ legal market. Big Easy OG hit me much more like a true indica than a middle ground hybrid. Almost immediately, I felt a heavy body effect that started as a light tingle but built upon itself into heavy waves of relaxation.
The mind aspect was also stronger than I expected leaving me with a locked in and blunted affect that left me ready to veg on the couch and not much else. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
