Review: Black Cherry Kush Disposable Vape by Vapin’ Ape
It’s a good time to be a vape enthusiast in Illinois. The list of brands, flavors, and hardware continues to grow at a rapid pace. Michigan native label Vapin’ Ape has been here for a few months with a wide range of cannabis-derived terpene-based flavors. I recently picked up a Vapin’ Ape Black Cherry Kush Disposable Vape to review.
Vapin’ Ape Black Cherry Kush Disposable Vape is a 1g vape with distillate-based oil and cannabis-derived terpenes. This vape tested at 80.08% THC, 0.365% CBD, and 84% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 7.77% of the total weight.

A long matte black rounded rectangle, at three- and three-quarter inches long and only a quarter inch thick, the vape sat comfortably in my palm or pocket. A huge oil visibility window defined the top of the hardware while allowing to track the amount of ale-colored oil within. There was a USB-C charge port at the bottom, a small white indicator light, and a hit to activate mechanism.
The cannabis derived terpenes made for a natural cannabis flavor with layers of cooking berry jam, black currants, freshly-cut leafy greens, cinnamon, roasting coffee, and warming musk. Surprisingly deep and complex, it took a considerable amount of exploration to identify all the flavors within. Despite the heavyweight flavor profile, the oil had little staying power and disappeared from the palate with the exhale.
Black Cherry Kush was fast to act, cutting through my running thoughts with a wave of quiet calm. My awareness sharpened, and I tuned into the moment around me and let go of anxiety. My energy levels remained at a steady state for the duration of the high, but the quiet headspace boosted my ability to focus. Physically, a sensation of heavy pressure moved through my crown, brow, and shoulder, leaving relaxed muscles and pain relief in its wake, but the bulk of the sensation was mental, not physical.
