Review: Blackberry Kush by Revolution
By Patsy Marie
As a lover of cannabis who primarily consumes concentrates, I was excited when asked to review Revolution Cannabis’ Blackberry Kush flower. Revolution is a brand I am always excited to try, even if it is a cultivar I have had numerous times. As far as my familiarity with Blackberry Kush, I had tried it once or twice when Revolution had it in concentrate form a couple years ago, and I loved it then.
Picked up at Enlightened Mt. Prospect, Blackberry Kush is an indica-dominant (80/20%) cross of Afghani and Huckleberry. The cannabinoid content of this batch of Blackberry Kush lists at 0.51% THC and 22.58% THCa with a total of 23.51% THC. The terpene profile listed limonene, caryophyllene, linalool, and pinene to thank for its gassy, classic-kush, and candied blueberry profile.

The aroma of Blackberry Kush was a very classic, grassy, and gassy kush with an essence that was definitively blueberry-like. It had a hashy profile with a jet-fuel taste and smell that was balanced out with sweet berries.
One aspect I noticed about this cultivar was that the longer I left the flower in its jar, the more it ended up smelling and tasting like blueberries. The gas in the profile was undeniable, but so was the scent of candied blueberries or blackberries.
I noticed a relatively clear mind, while also noting alleviation of pain and soreness in the body. Another aspect I enjoyed immensely about this cultivar was the giggly, happy effect. I can see the strain being best used for sociability, when in need for alleviation of pain, or when needing to get work done but also wanting to enjoy a relatively clear-minded strain.
Overall, Blackberry Kush has been one of my favorite cultivars from Revolution. Its classic gas and sweet berry profile make it extremely palatable and a pleasant smoke, meanwhile its clear-headed effects make it perfect for essentially anytime of day.
