Review: Cantaloupe Haze Disposable & G6 Cart by Verano
For me, oils are a distant third to flower and concentrates. But each has a function in my overall health care. For work trips and other road trips, I like to bring along a disposable vape. After once running out of a disposable vape earlier than expected, I now also bring an oil cartridge and my mini-vape as backup. For this last trip, I selected from NuEra Urbana’s menu a Cantaloupe Haze Traveler Disposable Vaporizer and a G6 Cartridge by Verano.
Most oil flavors fall flat for me. So when I do smoke a disposable vape or cart, I prefer three characteristics: a high-energy sativa, a flavorful strain, and near discreetness when smoking. The Cantaloupe Haze and G6 accomplished all three.
Cantaloupe Haze
The 300mg Cantaloupe Haze Traveler Disposable Vaporizer was derived from the whole cannabis plant. Verano’s distillate line was specifically created for patients who needed the same medicinal benefits but without the traditional flavor of cannabis
The Cantaloupe Haze strain is a nearly pure sativa cross between Haze Brothers Original Haze and a Mexican landrace. The smooth taste and hefty resin production make the strain ideal for producing concentrates. This pen boasted total THC levels of 85.86% and delivered sweet melon and tropical flavors on the front end of the inhale and exhale. Along with the tropical taste, the backend of the exhale was smooth floral notes. For vapes, I enjoy the tropical, fruit, and citrus flavors, and Cantaloupe Haze has them.
The disposable vape was perfect for morning, brunch, and afternoon dosing. The Cantaloupe Haze provided an extremely energetic and strong uplifting cerebral high. While medicating, I was more productive, creative, and in an overall better mood. For an energetic sativa, the Cantaloupe Haze also surprisingly delivered a boost to my appetite.
I’m always worried about the battery dying before the oil runs out in a disposable, though I haven’t had a problem with Verano vapes. I was able to smoke all the oil, but the battery did die right afterward (another reason to bring the cart as a back up).
G6 Cartridge
I chose the sativa-leaning G6 Cartridge because it’s one of my favorite strains for taste. I prefer the skunk, diesel, and citrus flavors from the prevalent limonene, caryophyllene, and myrcene terpenes. If done right, the G6 strainis a consistent go-to for me. G6 (also know as Jet Fuel) is a cross between Aspen OG and High Country Diesel. The G6 Cartridge’s flavor had hints of the diesel and skunk but also contained an earthy flavor. The G6 cart was not as tasty as the flower but what cart is?
This 500mg G6 Cartridge contained 85.63% total THC levels and delivered that classic energetic and euphoric cerebral effect I’m accustomed to. The prevalent caryophyllene and myrcene terpenes provided the body buzz that set in and balanced the mood-improving cerebral high. According to Verano, “We never ‘cut’ or dilute our cannabis oil with any other substances, therefore assuring the purest, highest quality product. Our 500mg Oil Cartridges are made from distillate and natural terpenes.”
Though the G6 Cartridge is a constant travel piece, I only use if I have to or when discreetness is a necessity. Another advantage for this type of use is that the cart, if kept in a proper environment, has a long shelf life and makes a great backup piece.
