The market success of CBD:THC ratio gummies speaks to the relief and value these products provide for medical patients, so I always pay attention when a new brand drops a line. Wyld is one of the largest cannabis brands in America, and the company recently brought its all-natural gummies to Illinois. I picked up the CBD:THC ratio line at nuEra Champaign to see what they offered.

Wyld offered 10 pieces in each package of the following:

• Pomegranate 1:1 CBD:THC gummies with 10mg of THC and 10mg of CBD per piece
• Peach 2:1 CBD: THC gummies with 5mg of THC and 10mg of CBD per piece
• Strawberry 20:1 CBD: THC gummies with 1mg of THC and 20mg of CBD per piece

The gummies were small rectangles, similar in size to a stretched-out Starburst. Each gummy had a fine sugar coating that helped to offset the stickiness of the candies, although the pomegranate flavor remained quite moist. Wyld struck a perfect balance between the waxy, easy-to-chew pectin-heavy options and the tougher, chewier options. The texture of these gummies was reminiscent of traditional packaged gummy candies, making them a great middle ground.

Opening any container released a sugary, candied aroma. Wyld’s gummies are flavored with natural fruit juices, which is evident in the taste of each candy. The pomegranate gummies carried a sweetened Pom juice flavor that balanced the fruit’s natural tartness, with just the right amount of sugar. The peach gummies had a lighter, sweeter taste profile that brought to mind peach cobbler, with only subtle hints of bitter cannabis oil. While the front-end flavor of the strawberry gummies accurately replicated the taste of strawberry jam, there was a stronger cannabis oil bitterness that lingered on the finish.

Properly sampling took me a couple of days, but I’m glad I spaced out my experiences as each one had distinct sensations. The Pomegranate 1:1 delivered a smooth come up and clearheaded anxiety relief, which made it easier to focus. Although it provided some pressure relief to my joints, there was not a heavy body load.

The Pear 2:1, on the other hand, created a much stronger body sensation, while leaving my headspace almost untouched. I experienced waves of warming relaxation moving down into my core, which continued for quite some time.

Initially biased against the Strawberry 20:1, I was surprised by the experience. These gummies renewed my faith in the power of CBD. The Strawberry 20:1 preserved my sober headspace, and I felt a profound lightness in my body that made all movement easier. Taking advantage of the relief, I tackled more than the usual amount of yard work and woke up the next day without the usual soreness.
