Review: Citral Glue Preroll 2-Pack by matter.
By @medsforheads
Though not always the best possible representation of a strain, a preroll is hard to beat for speed and convenience. When you’re on the go and can’t be bothered to roll one yourself or pack a bowl, being able to pop open a tube and spark up a joint in a moment’s notice really comes in handy. Plus, I like to reuse the tubes for my own rolls and chillums. Procured from Verilife River North, I tried out the Citral Glue two-pack from matter., a pair of prerolls that did the trick.
The two half-gram joints were packed in a yin-yang orientation to give each cone sufficient headspace. Despite this measure, one of the joints was kinked significantly, though the burn was not so impacted by the deformity. The filters had a single corrugation through the center, which allowed a few green flakes through on the initial hits, but effectively blocked ashes and “scooby snacks” from being inhaled.

Just by handling the joints, I could see they were packed much more loosely than the average commercial preroll, which tend to be so choked with particle-fine processed flower that proper airflow is impossible. These had more of the natural give I’d expect from a hand roll and were closed with a flat-ended fold, rather than a twist, which also typically helps the tip catch evenly.
This batch of Citral Glue tested at 23.26% THCa, and possessed the hallmark “glue” terpene profile heavy in mocha, mothballs, and woodsy musk with a distinguishing spritz of artificial lemon. The tube was packaged May 25, and its contents smoked almost exactly three months later.

Remarkably, neither joint was unpalatably dry, presumably having retained nearly all of its original essence. While the bent joint did experience some canoeing, the other caught perfectly on the first try and both burned effortlessly to the crutch in under five minutes apiece.
Bitter dark chocolate and orange oil notes struck me upon first inhale, along with that familiar, nebulously chemmy Glue flavor lifted up with a hint of citrus. The stony, tight-eyed buzz that followed each joint remained in effect for roughly an hour, bringing on a top-down cranial pressure and amplifying my appetite.
I found both joints easy on my lungs with a smooth, even burn and didn’t feel as though I was downgrading my experience substantially from rolling some nugs of the flower myself. The hybrid strain painted my visual perception with pastels, giving backgrounds a flattened, impressionistic look before settling into a mellow and mildly creative high for the remainder of its duration.
