Look at any modern dispensary vaporizer menu, and it’s obvious the modern ecosystem style pod device is here to stay. Companies have been pouring R&D cash into the space for years,” and there have never been more options to choose from. This is the entry from Select, the Cliq Pod and Battery. I picked up this “special edition” battery and Florida O pod from Curaleaf Mokena to see what they’ve created.

The special edition Cliq battery shares a shape profile with many of the modern pod systems, imagine a lighter that’s been stretched out and shaved down. The special edition battery I received featured an orange and pink psychedelic motif that seemed to ooze down from the top over a white base layer.

The device has a single tiny button in the center surrounded by a ring of light. Two button presses activates a short-pulsed “pre-heat” mode, and three presses cycles through the three power settings. There is a USB C charger port on the bottom.

The vape is exceptionally light but feels solid in the hand and the stainless steel outer layer can take a beating in bags or pockets without worry. The pods themselves are attractive, featuring a circular window for tracking oil level, and they are super simple to use snapping to the battery with a satisfying magnetic click and activating with a simple breath pull.

Florida O is a distillate based blend from Selects Elite Oil line that the company marks as a hybrid. These Cliq pods tested at 83.88% THC. The flavor from the lowest power setting was very light with just a hint of sweet orange flavor flashing on the palate before disappearing. The flavor blossomed at the second, and especially at the third power level becoming the unmistakable sweet citrus flavor of an orange Tic Tac.  The entire flavor profile was dominated by this sweet candied orange.

The effects from the Florida O Cliq pod were highly dose dependent, as is usually the case for distillate in my experience. At low doses I found a mind relaxation that made me more easygoing, and if you ask my wife, easier to get along with. I noticed almost nothing physically at the one to two hit level, which led to me overdoing my dosing a couple times. At higher levels Florida O left me dazed and spaced out mentally accompanied by waves of vibration in my head and torso. After a few too many hits, the couch was the only place I was going.

Overall, I found the Cliq system to be extremely simple to use right from the box. While the distillate based oil selection may not meet all of my medical needs, these worked well for some quick on-the-go relief when I needed it. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
