Review: Crops Fotia by Justice Cannabis Co.
By Theo
There is no shortage of OG Kush crosses on the Illinois market. All of the larger scale cultivators run at least one. So for Justice Cannabis Co. to launch its new flower brand, Crops, with OG crosses would indicate that Crops’ cultivators think the strains were going to stand out. In this case of Fotia, they were correct.
Fotia is cross of Fire OG and PCS1 (bred by Prolific Coast Seeds) that I picked up at Consume Marion was a pleasure to smoke and share with friends. I got one gorgeous 3.1 grams top, and a plump half-gram kush ball to make weight. It was 3.6 grams total. I’d bought a jar of this stuff last November, and the buds also were more than 3 grams.

The packaging Crops used to hold 3.6 grams of cannabis could have held a half-ounce easily, and itself weighed more than half a pound. The buds themselves were healthy and vibrant with a meticulous trim, bronze pistils, and an impressive coating of trichomes.
A bold and complex aroma of spiced kush, sour lemon pine, eucalyptus, and fuel was immediately detectable upon opening the oversized jar. Once ground, a more traditional OG profile emerged, very musky and floral, with the dank lemon, pine, and fuel still clearly present.
I already was anticipating the effects cannabis as I packed myself a bowl of this clearly well nurtured buds, and it did not disappoint. Often, these ultra-gassy OG crosses turn out peppery and harsh, and the higher the THC content, the more likely that seems to happen. At 29.54% THCa and 0.50%THC, Fotia walked the line between gassy and harsh with perfection. It was rich and pungent, but still incredibly smooth, dynamic, and satisfying flavors.

The effects delivered and instant and intense uplifting cerebral head high and mood elevation. The buzz quickly mellowed and smoothly transitioned into its body effects that were tingly and euphoric, yet not heavy or sedative. A second dose did prove stony and sedative, and yet it somehow retained that sense of cerebral engagement and uplift. It struck a remarkable balance.
Overall, I couldn’t have been happier with Fotia. I used it for creative writing tasks, before an anxiety inducing conversation with a colleague, and during a quiet, romantic evening with my partner. I enjoyed the smoking experience so much I wanted to reserve the bud and its electric body effects for moments I wanted to savor.
