Review: Daily Grapes by NEZ
Great growers know each strain has its own special needs and desires required to create the best expression possible. I find it reassuring when a company focuses on just a handful of cultivars. More attention means better quality. NEZ has focused on only four strains for the brand’s initial release. After reviewing Point Break, I stopped into Philli Dispensary Bourbonnais and picked up an eighth of Daily Grapes as a follow up.
Daily Grapes is a hybrid cross of Daily Driver and Grape Pie. This batch of flower tested at 0.25% THC, 33.52% THCa, and 33.77% total cannabinoids. The top indicated terpenes are limonene, β-caryophyllene, and linalool.
Three pointed flowers made up the eighth, carrying a bright turf-green tone at the base with tiny highlights of royal purple turned lavender by the milky trichome frost. Reaching out from the surface were wispy orange hairs that laced around the bud, adding even more liveliness to the structure. Concentrated at the creases where sugar leaves once sat, the milky trichomes took on a slight amber tone in concentration.
The aromatic profile from Daily Grapes was wide ranging with sweet notes of artificial grape, berry, and pear appearing among notes of wet slate, roasted meat, post forest rain, and hot diesel. The entire profile seemed to hit the nose all at once, and it took some exploration to pick the scent apart. The wet slate and hot diesel held over to the palate clearly with light hints of sweet grape and berry tones appearing and disappearing quickly. A surprising creamy tone that was undetected in the aroma rounded out the flavor profile.
Daily Grapes hit right at the center of the spectrum. A fast acting relaxation set into my mindspace, but my energy level remained unchanged making the cultivar a particularly good fit for anytime mood stabilization. The physical side was a slow burning wave of sensation that knocked out my physical pain and left a light tingling euphoria instead.
This was a long lasting experience and parts of the high were with me for the better part of two hours. Overall, this was another flavorful flower with a deep experiential profile from NEZ. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
