Review: Deep Fried Runtz Preroll by TwentyTwenty
I’ve only had the opportunity to sample Nature’s Grace and Wellness’ top-shelf label, Twenty Twenty, once before. Excited to see the brand’s Deep Fried Runtz on Trinity’s menu, I picked up a preroll to review.
Deep Fried Runtz is a hybrid cross of Zkittlez and Gelato. This preroll tested at 2.05% THC, 24.29% THCa, and 27.53% total cannabinoids.
The preroll was unique, coming as a straight sided hand rolled tube instead of the much more common cone. The off-white crutch was a bit loose and took up roughly one-fifth of the length. The remainder of the joint was filled with a consistent deep-forest-green rough-ground flower. I gave the joint a roll between my fingers, but it wasn’t necessary as the joint was well distributed and evenly rolled straight from the package.
The aroma inside the tube and a few dry pulls carried a natural blend of sweet mint, strawberry, lemon, and cilantro, followed by a more balanced pastry tone, similar to a buttermilk biscuit, at the finish. The flavor carried the same fruit notes but much less intensely as the finishing tones of cilantro and biscuit dough took the lead, creating a taste that was much less sweet than the aroma indicated. The flavor profile was intense but didn’t have much staying power, leaving the palate with the exhale.
The experience began before I had completed the joint with a tightening pressure starting at my brow and shoulders. My attention took a dive almost immediately. I became relaxed, and a clouded headspace took over. The peak of the high crested with an all over couchlock body buzz that seemed to turn gravity to 10, while my train of thought slowed to a snail’s pace. The long post peak tail of the experience left me tired and hungry as a case of the munchies set in.
