Review: Drunken Strawberries Badder by Bedford Grow
Frequent readers will already know of my fondness for strawberry flavors in cannabis. The modest berry is one of my favorite overall fruits, so it’s no surprise I love the flavor in weed as well. Bedford Grow recently released a new strain, Drunken Strawberries in badder form, so I stopped into Maribis Springfield on Denver for a sample.
Drunken Strawberries is a hybrid cross of Motorbreath 15 and Strawberry Guava. This batch of badder tested at 0.17% CBDa, 0.44% CBG, 1.25% CBGa, 2.8% Delta 9 THC, 76.63% THCa, and 81.29% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 7.32% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, limonene, β-myrcene, and α-humulene being the heaviest.

A messy mound of electric sunflower yellow badder sat in the center of a pool of pale golden terpene heavy oil that spread out from the center with small concentric rings of yellow exacerbating the visual effect. The badder scooped with a creamy room-temperature butter texture and the sticky terpene-laden oil was easy to manipulate as it maintained some viscosity.
The top end of the aroma profile was fruit heavy with distinct notes of fresh strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, papaya, and melon, followed by a heavy hitting chemical note of hot gas, cleaner, pine, and soap. The transition from fruit to chemical was hard to detect as the sweet fruity top end seemed to become sweeter and sweeter, until turning into the gassy and piney finish. The flavor carried the two-sided nature as well with strawberry and melon providing most of the flavor up front, while gas, pine, and some previously undetected floral tones appeared at the exhale.
Drunken Strawberries set in almost immediately with a full body wave of pressure and warmth that hit all over all at once. The pressure built slowly over the next half hour before breaking off and becoming an overall lightness that relieved some inflammation and stuck with me for the better part of two hours. Mentally Drunken Strawberries was very clearheaded and open with a boost in focus and energy that seemed mismatched from the heavy physical profile.
Overall, the strong two-sided flavor and effect profile made for an interesting experience and I look forward to sampling the strain again. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
