Review: Face Mints by Cresco
Though 4/20 may have passed, some holiday-inspired deals are still available. Sunnyside dispensaries are continuing their 420 Collection deals until April 30, so I picked up from Sunnyside Champaign an eighth of Face Mints.
Face Mints is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Face Off OG and Kush Mints. This batch of flower tested at 0.46% THC, 28.67% THCa, and 29.13% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes include caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcenes.
The largest flower in the jar provided half the weight with four smaller popcorn-sized nugs filling the gap. Multiple shades of green hid beneath bunches of fire orange hairs and a milky sparkling trichome frost. The flowers were particularly dense but still provided a slow bounce back when squeezed between fingers.
A savory blend of garlic, diesel, pungent musk, onion, and roasty barbecue hit my nose when I popped the seal. In the smoke though, I found fresher flavors of peppermint leaf and perfume lingering among the diesel and musk. The heavy pungency of the flavor lent it a lingering quality that sustained the taste long after the exhale.
Face Mints was a classic indica experience providing a slow-building full-body relaxation, mental relief from the stress of the day, and a serious case of the munchies. The physical aspect was light initially, relieving some of the pressure at my joints before building into a heavy weight at my core and relaxing my muscles.
Face Mints served me best at the end of the night and after a few too many snacks and some couch lounging, it put me to sleep. Overall, the heavy savory flavors and classic indica effects made Face Mints a good nightcap. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
