Review: Gone Swishin by Revolution
As Revolution Cannabis prepares to release its new-to-Illinois Cookies line of products, the Illinois-based company has been releasing its own in-house crosses of the Compound Genetics strains that the Cookies brand is built on. I picked up samples of a few of these new releases during a trip to Enlightened Mt. Prospect, the first of which was Gone Swishin.
Gone Swishin is a hybrid cross of Gary Payton and Fish Scale, created in-house by Revolution. This batch of flower tested at 0.42% THC, 26.69% THCa, and 27.41% total cannabinoids. The primary indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, α-humulene, and α-pinene.

I opened the jar to two large colas, each about the size of a thumb, accompanied by a handful of smaller popcorn-style nugs. These chunky flowers carried a substantial layer of trichome frost that brightened the overall appearance. The buds were predominantly turf green with some remnants of dark purple almost-black sugar leaves. Delicate wispy orange hairs added a touch of contrast and texture to the overall appearance.
Revolution has perfected a creamy, doughy cookie flavor in several of its strains, and that signature flavor carried through in Gone Swishin as the instantly recognizable top note. However, the flavor profile is far from one-dimensional. A complex amalgamation of savory flavors, including diesel, hot vinyl, musk, barbeque, garlic, and perfume, followed the initial taste. On the inhale, the perfume note took center stage, becoming floral with a tangy diesel and garlic finish on the exhale. Overall, the flavor of Gone Swishin is dense and multifaceted
After sampling Gone Swishin, I experienced a warm and euphoric sensation that started at my crown and spread throughout my body. I felt a heavy pressure mounting at my eyes, causing my eyelids to drop, while a goofy grin took over my face. The strain had an uplifting effect on my mood, making me more accepting, calm, and social.
As a true hybrid, I fit this strain into my schedule anywhere, and the effects lasted for an exceptionally long time. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the versatile effects of Gone Swishin and am looking forward to sampling the strain again. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
