Review: Gorilla’D Cheese Preroll by Revolution
Only a handful of strains in Illinois have attracted a cult following. Cuts such as Jenny Kush from Aeriz, Brownie Scout from Rhythm, or Revolution’s Gorilla’D Cheese all have dedicated fans in the Prairie State. Gorilla’D Cheese has recently returned to shelves to some noted fanfare, so I stopped in at Enlightened Mt. Prospect and picked up a preroll to review.
Gorilla’D Cheese is a hybrid cross of GG4 and Clementine. This preroll tested at 0.92% THC, 25.72% THCa, and 27.14% total cannabinoids.

Wrapped in a standard 1-gram Vibes cone, a product of the synergistic relationship between Cookies and Revolution here in Illinois, the joint was tightly rolled. After some pre-work to loosen up the body, one spot started to canoe, but a hit with the lighter evened things out, and the rest of the burn was a smooth experience.
The aroma from the tube and a couple dry pulls revealed spicy tones of black pepper and thyme, followed by richer scents of aged cheddar, wild onion, and garlic. All of these flavors hit the palate with the cheese and pepper hitting the heaviest, followed by additional tones of cedar and fresh cut pine appearing on the finish. Gorilla’D Cheese was savory and sticky as the flavor lingered for quite some time.
Gorilla’D Cheese has always hit as a true hybrid, and this preroll was exactly what I was expecting. Initially, a burst of body heavy euphoria cascaded down from my chest into the rest of my muscles. This rush was short lived, and soon a calm and collected mindset wiped out my anxiety and the tingly euphoria became an overall sensation of floating. This mental calm and muscle relaxation was almost as sticky as the flavor, lasting well over an hour and a half post joint.
Overall, this was a flavorful preroll with a solid anytime effect profile, and made it easy to see why Gorilla’D Cheese has such a following.
