Review: Grease by Bedford Grow
Some strains blow me away from the first hit. After the first toke, I usually know if I am going to enjoy the taste and effects or not. Some strains, though, grow on me. Grease by Bedford Grow I picked up from Springfield Maribis was one of those strains.
Grease is a hybrid cross between Sauce and Face Off Bx2. This batch tested at 0.61% THC, 18.73% THCa, and 0.27% CBG for a total of 19.61% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes included limonene and β-caryophyllene, which comprised about 70% of all terpenes. The following three terpenes included β-myrcene, α-humulene, α-pinene, and β-elemene.
The eight came as one huge bud and two medium-sized buds that were light green, well-trimmed, and dense.
The caryophyllene and humulene give the aroma a hop-like base with orange, pine, spice, and floral notes in the background. Though the aroma was not overwhelming, it had subtle back notes that were diverse.
The most consistent flavor that anchored the inhale and exhale was a sweet kush. The rest of the flavors followed the aroma with cinnamon, hops, and a peppery orange. The flavors fluctuated and led with different taste each hit. The hops, pine, and a sweetness hit more on the inhale. The exhale usually delivered more of the peppery orange with a sweet grease that coated the inside of the mouth.
Grease’s cerebral effects were more clearheaded than expected. On the front half or more of the buzz, a happy euphoric head high kept me motivated and working even though I was going to take a break.
The heavy head buzz settled in the crown of my head and temple, as if wearing a mask around my eyes. The body buzz followed, which strengthened with each doze. The cerebral and body buzzes lasted for hours.
After medicating once, I switched from dosing late at night to early afternoon and evening. After several doses, the more traditional indica effects kicked in, which led me to eating well at dinner and then later that night falling asleep in front of the television (which is nothing new per se).
One of the reasons I smoke review samples at least three times, if possible, is because strains like Grease. Grease grew on me because I enjoyed heavy but clearheaded high that put me in happy-go-lucky mood each time, and the flavors were subtle but diverse with each toke slightly different.
