Review: Hawaiian Rain x Permanent Marker by Flora
With several craft labels coming online last year, 2024 was a year of unprecedented growth for the Illinois cannabis market, and 2025 shows no signs of slowing down. One of the newest labels in dispensaries is Flora Arbor flagship label, Flora. I recently stopped at Stash Orland Hills and picked up an eighth of Hawaiian Rain x Permanent Marker label to review.
Hawaiian Rain (London Pound Mints and Jealousy) x Permanent Marker (Biscotti and Jealousy and Sherbet BX strains) is a hybrid cross. This batch of flower tested at 0.106% CBDa, 0.622% THC, 29% THC, and 31.8% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 2.54% of the total weight

Two large cola tops were accompanied by a couple smaller popcorn-sized pieces. Deep-forest green at the base, the buds carried varying shades of sugar leaf, from lilac to royal purple . A dense coat of outreaching milky trichomes gave the flowers a silvery appearance in direct light. Dense and tightly dried, the buds had a tacky stickiness from the exterior to the core.
The first notes were a blend of toasted coconut, fresh rain petrichor, peanut butter, and hints of banana, followed by warmer undertones of aged cheddar, cut cedar, and hot diesel. A pass through the grinder released earthier notes of hot rubber, freshly turned dirt, and roasting fat. The flavor was fruitier than the aroma with hints of lime peel and papaya leading the warmer tones of cedar, hot rubber, and roasting fat. Despite the savory notes on the exhale, the profile provided a clean finish.
Hawaiian Rain x Permanent Marker hit as a center spectrum hybrid inducing a creative, positive frame of mind almost immediately. My energy levels remained stable even as a full body muscle relaxation released my tensions. The optimistic and peaceful mind shift outlasted the muscle relaxation and made the strain a good fit as an anytime fix for low level anxieties.
