Review: Space Rainbow by Korner Boys
Variety is the spice of life. That’s why I’ve been pleased to see craft labels bringing new and interesting strains to state menus. Korner Boys, by Atomic Acres, has delivered variety with a genetic lineup filled with new-to-me cultivars. I recently picked up a quarter of Korner Boys’ Space Rainbows to review.
Space Rainbow is a hybrid cross of Lumpy Space Princess and Rainbow Belts. Two large handfuls of chunky flowers had been closely trimmed, each one to a sharp point. Brightly colored, shades of turf green and lilac purple were further brightened by a dense milky trichome layer that covered each flower completely. The buds were dense and broke down finely in the grinder.

The aroma was densely layered with notes of artificial watermelon candy, sweet citrus, creamy mascarpone, celery seed, and magnolia blossom, interplaying with notes of wild onion, cooking fat, butter, cheddar, and black pepper. All the scents seemed to be happening at once and took several passes to identify each one. The sweeter notes of magnolia, cream, and citrus came through most clearly and direct in the smoke making. The flavor was heavy, sticking to the tongue for more than ten minutes after finishing a sesh.
Space Rainbow was a slow-to-build experience, unfolding more than thirty minutes before reaching a peak. Initially, a peaceful, calm, and optimistic mood took over my headspace. A tingling buzz ran across the surface of my skin in waves. After the peak, both the physical and mental experience became heavier as a haze descended on my awareness window and the tingling buzz shifted into a tugging pressure in my arms and core.
