Being a fan of both Willie Nelson and cannabis means I’ve got a list of favorite songs as well as a list of Red Headed Stranger inspired strains that I love. Highwayman happens to be on both. I recently picked up a Highwayman Live Resin Cart from Dabstract to review.

Highwayman is a hybrid cross of Williams Wonder and Tang Tang. This vape cart tested at 0.35% CBD, 17.54% THCa, 60.75% THC, and 83.15% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 15.89% of the total weight with myrcene, terpinolene, and caryophyllene being the heaviest.

The basic half-gram vape cart was very familiar. A metal coil inside a glass tube with a white-ceramic mouthpiece filled with a golden transparent-amber oil. Thick even at higher temperatures, the oil followed gravity and bubbled into the coil very slowly.

The flavor was unique and deeper than most vape carts. Initially, a tangy blend of dried hops, pine tar, papaya, and pickling solution hit my palate. This opening tangy note peaked quickly and was followed by a much warmer, deeper blend of dark chocolate, cooking mushrooms, freshly turned dirt, and hints of fresh rain petrichor. Even at the highest voltages, the layers of flavor came through clearly, leaving a hint of fresh pine and hops in its wake.

The buzz built slowly then seemed to peak all at once. After five minutes, a wave of mental clarity paired with an optimistic mood wiped away any low level anxiety. My chronic pain in my back loosened as a wave of euphoric tingles moved down from my head into my body. The sharp peak was followed by a solid 2-hour window of clear headed productivity as the body buzz and mood boost receded. Overall, the intriguingly deep flavor profile paired with a highly productive buzz put Highwayman near the top of my favorite vapes.
