Review: Jungle Cake by Cultivate/Ieso
After reviewing and enjoying the newly released Cultivate strains Oreoz, LA Kush Cake, and Monkey Spunk from Ieso, I rounded out this last batch of review products with Jungle Cake.
Jungle Cake, bred by Seed Junky Genetics, is a 50/50-hybrid cross of Fire #43 (a phenotype of White Fire OG) and Wedding Cake (Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies). This batch tested at 0.60% THC, 24.90% THCa, 0.75% CBGa, and 26.25% total cannabinoids. The total terpenes reached 4.17%, with limonene, β-caryophyllene, linalool, β-pinene, and α-pinene leading the way.

The eighth came as two walnut-sized buds with small natural foxtails and drenched in creamy trichomes. The well-trimmed dense buds were properly cured and broke apart off the bud in smaller chunks. The different shades of greens and purples backdropped the thin orange pistils protruding through created an overall great bag appeal.
The aroma also carried a strong back appeal with a pungent sweetness mixed with diesel, fruit, pine, earth, kush, and spice. The flavor was just as dynamic but with more sweetness.

The inhale hit with sugary cake mixed with pine, citrus, mint berries, diesel, and kush. The backend of the inhale added notes of an earthy and sweet nuttiness. The exhale started with sweet flavors, but the back end switched back-and-forth from sugary citrus and gas to earthy berry, nutty, pine, and spice.
Jungle Cake effects delivered not a “combined” hybrid high but instead a “split” hybrid high in which the mental high leans toward sativa effects and the physical high leans toward indica effect. Both the head and body high were potent and long lasting.

The head high was more uplifting and cerebral than expected. With several doses, the thought process became more internal and creative and at the same time relaxing and upbeat. Late in the buzz, the uplifting part of the head high transitioned into something more sedative.
The body buzz was heavy with a quick onset and reminded me of the pressing weight felt when a dentist’s assistant places that heavy X-ray bib across your chest and shoulders. By the end of the high, the body buzz took over the head high for a more total body and mind relaxation that worked well for afternoons, evenings, and late nights.

Overall, Jungle Cake helped my inflammation, muscle soreness, and boosted my appetite. Flavor chasers and patients searching for strong body buzzes should enjoy Jungle Cake. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
