Bedford Grow keeps cultivating strains from its long list, and we keep reviewing them. The latest, Kushions, I picked up at Maribis Springfield on Grandview.
Kushions is cross between the two classic strains OG Kush and Northern Lights. This batch tested at 27.53% THCa, 0.62% THC, 1.16% CBGa, and 29.31% total cannabinoids. Leading terpenes included β-myrcene, limonene, β-caryophyllene, α-pinene, and linalool.
The bulbous buds were a mix of light and dark green with thick dark orange pistils. The smell from the container was consistent with the lineages’ kushy pine, citrus, hops, and lavender.
The flavor hit with basically the same as the aroma but with added lemon/orange citrus and spice. The front-end of the inhale delivered the kushy pine, citrus, and floral flavors, and the exhale provided the hops, pine, and spice with floral back notes.
The effects were potent with a quick onset. The first part of the head high was energetic, uplifting, and settled in the lower half of the skull. After an hour or with more doses, the buzz becomes more sedative for the mind and body. The calmness relieved stress and anxiety from earlier in the day.
The sedation as mental tiredness, especially once the body buzz settled. With more doses, I was in the “Kushions” of the couch with thought and body lock, ready for bed. Kushions boosted my appetite, but once I was hungry enough to eat, it was too late at night, and I preferred sleep over food.
Overall, I medicated with Kushions as my late-night strain that allowed me to watch television, listen to music, or just zone out to decompress and de-stress at the end of a long work day.
