Review: Megatoke from Lit Glass and Vape
While there are currently what seems like thousands of vaporizer options available on the market, three are very few that are so different that they have a category entirely to themselves. The Megatoke is “weird in a good way” enough to place it squarely in it’s own world. Lit Glass and Vape (located at 5644 Dempster Street in Morton Grove) sells these through their online site and in-store, and they were kind enough to send this one for me to try.
Owner Ankeedo KaOs Shamoun founded Lit Glass & Vape in 2017 with the mission “to bring high quality smoke-shop goods with an exclusive touch, at an affordable rate.”

Let me start the review by saying that the Megatoke isn’t actually a vape. Since the dry herb you load is actually combusted inside the chamber, the Megatoke can more accurately be described as an e-pipe. It’s a simple solid metal design with a removable 18650 battery at the bottom, a replaceable heating coil, a ceramic chamber, and a mouthpiece. At 4 inches tall and an inch wide, it sits easily in my palm, and when it’s loaded with a battery, it’s got a nice heft to it.
There’s only one button on the side of the device, a solid metal piece that has a nice mechanical click when pushed in. There’s also a small silicone sleeve that slides around the button to stop it from being pressed when the device is in your pocket, which I lost after about a week of use.
The Megatoke couldn’t be easier to use. Everything on the device simply screws together. Want to load fresh flower? Unscrew the mouthpiece and load it directly onto the coil inside the chamber. Want to clear out the ash? Unscrew the chamber from the battery and tap it out. There are no adjustable modes, no button presses to remember. Simply fire.

After a short learning curve, I found the best way to use the device was a small priming press of 2-3 seconds followed by pressing while hitting it. The real selling point to the Megatoke is that it combusts everything inside the chamber at one time, creating giant clouds of smoke and living up to it’s dudebro name. They even include a silicone adapter for the mouthpiece so that you can use it on a bong, something I highly recommend.
As I said, The Megatoke is weird in a good way. It’s not a device for consumers looking to be discreet or efficient with their flower. The effects can’t be understated though, and a rip or two from the Megatoke are all you need for a substantial correction. It’s solidly built, easy to use and clean, and honestly, a lot of fun to use and show off.

If you’re out there looking for something different, something fun, something weird in a good way, the Megatoke might be for you.
