Review: Lavender Gelato Preroll by Dogwalkers
With summer fast approaching, I’ve been bringing more joints along on my adventures. When I forget to plan ahead, the temptation to swing by a dispensary and grab a ready-to-go joint is often too strong to resist. That was exactly what happened during my recent visit to Rise Effingham, where I decided to try a Dogwalkers “Big Dog” Lavender Gelato preroll.
Lavender Gelato is a hybrid cross of Lavender and Gelato created in-house by GTI. This preroll tested at 0.39% THC, 25.01% THCa, and 25.4% total cannabinoids.
The Big Dog from Dogwalkers came in a standard tube, and despite being the largest offering in the line, it was still smaller than a typical dispensary joint at 0.75 grams. Upon opening the tube, I was greeted by a sweet and floral aroma with hints of rose, lavender, and fresh geranium. The joint was densely rolled, so I gave it some “prework” by rolling it around between my fingers to loosen it up.
During consumption, the joint burned clean and smooth for the entire duration. I discovered some complexity and tanginess to the flavor that I hadn’t detected in the scent. At the inhale, I noticed flavors of lime zest and cream, while on the finish, I detected black pepper and the aforementioned lavender and rose.
Lavender Gelato induced a very heavy pressure at my eyes and forehead, a sensation that lasted the duration of the experience. My body was relaxed, and I noticed the pressure relief that had set in at my joints. I was caught off guard by the boost of energy that hit me soon after finishing the preroll and the “racing mind, relaxed body” contrast gave me some momentary anxiety, but I was able to turn the energy into something productive after sitting down to do some creative work.
Overall, the flavor and experience were both more than I was expecting from the Dogwalkers Big Dog and I’ll be returning to the label again. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
