Review: Lemon Durban Live Badder by Bedford Grow
Durban Poison and its countless genetic spin offs will always hold a special place in my heart. The “racy in a good way” South African landrace started a love affair with sativa strains that still burns with a passion. I ask a lot of anything labeled with the Durban name. I was excited to see what Bedford Grow could do with some of my favorite genetics when offered the chance to try its Lemon Durban Live Badder.
Lemon Durban is a cross of FoCo (Ft. Collins) Durban, Northern Lights, and Haze. This batch of badder tested at 72.31% THCA, 5.02% total THC, 1.42% CBGA, and 79.07% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes included terpinolene (at 3.46%!) limonene, b-caryophyllene, b-myrcene, and ocimene.

This badder was rather “wet” thanks to the 14.98% terpene content. The badder had a lively, slightly off sunflower yellow color and spread out across the container with a smooth finish. The consistency had a nice stickiness that truly resembled cake badder.
The aroma from the jar was bright, tangy, and complex. Freshly cut citrus peel, hops, and hot diesel hit my nose before I found notes of strawberry, raspberry, and the telltale chemical tang of terpinolene.

The flavor carried the citrus peel and hot gas most prominently before the sweet berry tones and candied fruit appeared on the finish. The flavor experience was drawn out and really seemed to have several “layers” of flavor change.
The effect profile featured the creativity boost and flowing energy of the Durban Poison namesake. I found myself talkative and ready to get things done with a real positive motivation pushing me along after a dose.

The body effects started with a light tingle but I found that they became heavier as time passed eventually becoming a full on body buzz. The head/body contrast made this badder versatile enough to fit into my schedule as a day opener with my coffee or in the evening after dinner.
The bright tangy flavor, strong terpene content, and high flying experience was a solid representation of what Durban Poison can do when bred, grown, and extracted correctly. Bedford Grow has a winner here. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, click here.
