Review: London Pound Mints Live Sugar by Cresco
By Benny Blanco
When opening this jar of London Pound Mints Live Sugar by Cresco, I was near-instantly thrown back to how Cresco’s concentrates used to be in late 2018 and early 2019, borderline diamonds and sauce but just a little too low of a total cannabinoid to bump it into that category.
London Pound Mints is a cross between two powerhouse strains, London Pound Cake #75 and Kush Mints #11. This sugar is likely to be slept on, as it only boasts a 73.99% total cannabinoid content. Of the cannabinoids present, THCA contributes about 70%, THC is slightly above 3%, and there are very small amounts of CBD (less than .5%). The major terpenes in this batch were limonene and caryophyllene.

In this batch, there’s a beautiful ratio of THCA sugar complemented by a generous amount of honey-like sauce. Beyond its beautiful appearance, when smelling this batch, it has a heavy citrus and slightly piney inhale, but as the aroma lingers, it settles into its caryophyllene-influenced slightly spicy, peppery influences. So far, this seems to be one Cresco finally dialed in to an quality that can represent each strain’s characteristics truly.
When dabbing, the taste starts off heavy in its London Pound Cake notes with a sweet lemony flavor with hints of vanilla pastry. On the exhale, the flavor transforms into a citrusy pine and a hint of refreshing mint as well. When exhaling, this strain’s caryophyllene influences sneak up as the flavor shifts to a peppery, but not very spicy tone, reminiscent of old school GG#4.
As its effects settle in, this sugar starts with an overwhelming amount of tension relief, and a heavy dose of full body relaxation. As the high settles in, a sort of clarity and focus creep in. After doing a few doses, the feelings brought on by this strain are very relaxing, yet functional for higher tolerance smokers.
This strain would be an excellent experience for beginners as well. However, smaller doses would likely provide a similar euphoria that I felt once I achieved the dose needed.
Overall, this strain seems to consistently provide a heavy dose of relief while still being functional and focused. The appearance and presentation were very pleasing, and the effects are long lasting.
