Review: Lusty Lady by Kaviar
As the cannabis industry matures and starts to take itself more seriously, one area that I hope never gets too “grown up” is the tendency for breeders to still have fun when naming strains. I recently chuckled when I stopped into Star Buds Burbank and spotted on the menu Lusty Lady from Kaviar. I picked up an eighth of the strain to review.
Lusty Lady is a hybrid cross of Bahama Mama and Red Runtz, bred originally by Exotic Genetix. This batch of flower tested at 0.349% THCVa, 1.522% CBGa, 0.509% Delta 9 THC, 28.766% THCa, and 31.146% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 2.2% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, limonene, and α-humulene being the heaviest.

A handful of small popcorn pieces carried a bright green base tone beneath large blotches of bright royal purple. Thick-orange hairs weaved across the surface and under sugar-leaf remnants, while milky trichomes dotted the surface. These budlets were less dense than recent pickups from Kaviar with a lively Nerf football bounceback upon being squeezed.
The aroma in the jar was heavily floral leaning on notes of sweet rose and lilac on the top end but followed closely by a richer blend of pine, black pepper, and cedar wood. The bouncy texture of these buds ground into a fluff that smoked smooth enough that deep rips from the bong were smooth. The delicate floral notes came through clearly on the palate and seemed to blend in with the pine and cedar so that all the flavors were occurring at one time.
Lusty Lady struck as a true hybrid with a cerebral opening that shifted my mood pleasantly and added a light haziness to my overall awareness. Waves of tingles came and went, growing stronger as the experience peaked and leaving a trace of indica style heaviness as time passed. The long tail of Lusty Lady left me positive for hours, and once the haziness wore off, focusing actually became easier.
Overall, this was an easygoing floral hybrid that could be enjoyed any time of day. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
