Review: Lychee, Guava, and Yuzu Hash Drops by Aerīz
Aerīz’s Mango Hash Drops have remained near the top of my favorite edibles list since I first tried them last year. I was excited to see a follow up with three new flavors: Yuzu, Lychee, and Guava. I stopped at LOVA Cannabis in Carbondale and picked up all three flavors to review.
Aerīz Yuzu, Lychee, and Guava Hash Drops each come as a 20-pack of gummies. The Yuzu have 2.5mg of THC and 5mg THCV per piece. The Guava have 5mg of THC, 5mg of CBD, and 5mg of CBG per piece. And the Lychee have 5mg of THC per piece. The ingredients are sugar, corn syrup, water, fruit concentrate, pectin, fruit flavor concentrate, malic acid, MCT oil, cannabis oil, natural color, sodium citrate, and lecithin.
Each gummy was a slightly flattened half sphere (as big across as a quarter) with a glossy bottom and sprinkling of sugar across the top. The Yuzu was a bright translucent lemon yellow, the Lychee a translucent pastel pink, and the Guava a translucent reddish salmon tone. The Hash Drops lived up to their name with a stiff gumdrop style mouthfeel.
The Lychee was the lightest of the three with a tropical citrus flavor similar to grapefruit that built as the gummy was chewed, leaving a hint of bitterness in its wake. The Guava was sweeter, supplying a strawberry-like front note before transitioning to an apple/pear flavor. Yet again, the finish was marked by a lingering bitter tone. The Yuzu was the most impactful of the trio with a citrusy sweet blend reminiscent of a lemon shake up at the top with a hint of orange peel and the same bitter note as the other flavors hitting on the finish.
The Lychee had the most traditional formulation and effect profile, hitting me by the 40-minute mark with a combination of muscle relaxation and an all over feeling of lightness that stuck with me for more than an hour. A wave of calm took hold on the come up but turned towards a cloudy, slightly tiring back end. The Guava acted slightly faster, clearing my anxieties and unlocking a crystal clear, spacious headspace that allowed me to laser focus on the task at hand. Light tingles came on in waves, peaking as a euphoria focused in my core. There was also a notable increase in hunger as the Guava experience ended.
The Yuzu was a complete departure from the traditional edible with a boost in energy and a darting attention that jumped from topic to topic. My appetite quickly fell off, eventually diminished enough to skip my midday meal. The Yuzu was undoubtedly the most “sativa” like edible I have ever had. Overall, the new flavors pair exotic fruit flavors with innovative minor cannabinoid blends to deliver some unique experiences.
