Review: MAC 1 Blunt by Lobo
When I was younger, dreaming about a legal cannabis future that seemed so far away, one of the concepts we often spoke of was the proliferation of the cannabis cigar. While many states have started to see a wider selection of infused and standard blunts trickle on to menus, Illinois remains behind with only a few options available. Lobo has recently released a 2-gram hemp-wrapped blunt to the Prairie State, so I stopped into Parkway Dispensary and picked up a MAC 1 sample to see what the label had brought to market.
MAC 1 is a hybrid cross of Alien Cookies F2 and Miracle 15. This batch of flower tested at 0.01% THC, 29.23% THCa, and 29.985% total cannabinoids.
The classic-brown glass-tipped blunt was slightly shorter than a Sharpie but just as wide, with a yellow Lobo wrapper at the point where the mouthpiece met the wrap. The blunt was tightly wrapped with a solid feel throughout and a small gap at the end that assisted with getting it fully lit.
The scent inside the glass package was dominated by the woody cedar tone emanating from the hemp wrap, but outside the package, notes of sweet cream and chem appeared. The blunt smoked clean and evenly, only starting to bother the back of the throat at the bottom of the burn. On the palate, the sweet cream and chemical funk came to the front, while the cedarwood and roasted coffee tone of the hemp wrap fell to the back, creating a supporting note that tied the profile together and punched up the richness.
The MAC 1 50/50 experiential profile set in before the halfway mark on the blunt, relaxing my mind and tightening my awareness to the moment at hand. My energy level remained unchanged, a well-known aspect of MAC’1s versatility. Waves of floating sensation opened in my core, spreading out into my arms before subsiding into a light inflammation relief that remained with me for the next couple hours.
The MAC 1 Blunt was a smooth smoking option and the strain made the entire experience surprisingly fit for almost any time of day and left looking forward to more blunts in 2024. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
