Review: Nimbus Snacks Preroll by Royale
A few strains are so surprising that I have to come back around and give them a follow up. Royale Nimbus Snacks intrigued me with a terpinolene-heavy punch when I first reviewed it in December 2023, so I recently popped into Ascend Adams Street and picked up a preroll to check out the cultivar one more time.
Nimbus Snacks is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of Durban Mints and GSC. This preroll tested at 0.65% THC, 29.452% THCa, and 30.1% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 3.01% of the total weight with terpinolene, β-myrcene, and β-caryophyllene being the most prevalent.

Rolled in a standard hemp cone, I could see from the tip that the joints body was actual ground flower instead of the powdery fluff some prerolls are made of. This helped keep a smooth burn, and the preroll burned down evenly without any prework or intervention.
The scent from the tube and a few long dry pulls revealed the tangy nature of the aroma. Notes of hot spicy mustard, lemon peel, and sharp diesel were the easiest to identify from the sharp blend. The smooth burn made picking apart the flavor easy with the mustard and lemon tones appearing on the inhale and some surprising pine and blue cheese notes on the exhale.
Hoping the preroll was as energetic as the eighth of flower I reviewed a few months ago, I smoked the Nimbus Snacks preroll in the morning with my coffee. The combination of the two was almost overwhelming at the peak as the Nimbus Snacks provided a wide-open awareness and headspace. My mood was unstoppably positive, and despite several setbacks, my motivation also was piqued. The clearheadedness stuck with me for a couple hours even as the motivation waned. Some light sensations came and went in my core, but overall the physical profile of Nimbus Snacks was very light.
