Review: OG Kush Breath by Rythm
I admit it. I’m a terpinolene lover. Something about the unique tangy terpene works for my needs, so it’s easy to see why I love strains such as Durban Poison and Jack Herer that are heavy in the terp. I’m always intrigued when I see new strains based on these personal favorites, which was what drew me to Rythm’s OG Kush Breath, a descendant of Durban Poison. I headed up to Rise Effingham and picked up a sample to review.
Rythms OG Kush Breath is a hybrid cross of OG Kush and Durban Poison. This batch of flower tested at 0.58% THC, 25.21% THCa, and 25.78% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were labeled as 0.31% β-caryophyllene, 0.28% limonene, 0.12% linalool, 0.07% β-myrcene, 0.05% β-pinene, and 0.04% α-pinene.

This quarter was a mix of large buds, popcorn flower, and smaller bud pieces. The amber trichome covering lent some of its color to the green flower underneath, creating a more yellow tone alongside splashes of pink, purple, and wire-thin curled-in-rust-colored hairs. There were some small pieces of stem still attached to the larger buds that should have been left on the trim room floor.
The scent inside the jar was a slightly sweet blend of berry notes, cream, hints of burnt orange, an indicator of the Durban genetics, and a finishing earthy forest tone that tied everything together. It was the tangy burnt orange alongside hot diesel that wasn’t present in the scent that carried through to the palate. The earthy forest note came in right at the finish of the exhale, once again tying up the experience and providing a clean finish.
Experientially, Rhythms OG Kush Breath provided a clearheaded openness that set in by the finish of the bowl. Energy levels and mood unchanged, OG Kush Breath was a good fit for as needed anxiety relief, as it simply cleared away whatever was worrying me without a lot of additional cerebral load.
Physically, sensations moved throughout my body, providing a light euphoric tingle that came in waves for the duration of the experience. I enjoyed the clearheaded anxiety relief from OG Kush Breath, and I look forward to more of the strain. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
