Sometimes, genetics are what grab me. I’ve said before that classic strains are classic for a reason, and when multiple legendary strains are crossed, I have to explore the results. That’s why I picked up POTUS Berriez Live Resin from Aerīz at Consume Marion.

POTUS Berriez is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Runtz, Afghani, and OG Kush. This live resin tested at 2.09% D9THC, 81.63% THCa, and 85.06% total cannabinoids. The terpenes were indicated as β-caryophyllene at 0.97%, limonene at 0.75%, β-myrcene at 0.58%, and linalool at 0.54%.

This gram was a bright sunflower yellow mound of gritty crystal-heavy budder. Everything seemed to float inside a visible terpene pool that gave the top a bright liquid sheen. The sugary THC crystals thickened the terp-heavy budder considerably and made for a wet clay consistency that was easy to dose.

The aroma from the jar was a layered experience opening with a sickly sweet candy, followed by fresh pine, jasmine, honeysuckle, and honeydew. Supporting these clear top notes were undercurrents of lemon and lavender.

Those undercurrents of aroma became the heaviest flavors when vaporized with the lemon and lavender appearing together, reminiscent of a fruity herbal tea. The candy sweetness was still present, and lower temperatures brought it out more.

My experiences opened with an instant relaxation accompanied by a realization that the worries I had carried home with me from work didn’t really matter. POTUS Berriez grounded me in the moment and almost completely relieved my consistent anxiety.
