Review: Purple Churro Live Resin Vape Cart by Cresco
While I love sampling the never-ending list of new genetics hitting shelves, I also love revisiting strains I’ve sampled before, especially when it’s a different format. Cannabis is wildly variant, and different characteristics are revealed by each product category. I first sampled Purple Churro as flower from Cresco label FloraCal, but I recently found Cresco’s Purple Churro liquid live-resin vape cart to review.
Purple Churro is a hybrid cross of Cinnamon Horchata and Apples and Bananas, originally created by Compound Genetics. This vape cart tested at 74% THC and 74% total cannabinoids. Cresco paired a branded-glass tank with a clear cylindrical-plastic mouthpiece and wide red band at the bottom denoting the “sativa” nature of the strain. The oil inside was a dark chestnut color and so dense that I had to monitor my hits to ensure the oil had wicked into the coil to prevent dry hits and a burnt coil even at a low voltage.

The flavor was very sweet and delivered on the “purple” with a blend of artificial berry, cherry, and candied floral notes on the top end, with tones of roasted thyme and cedar clearing the sweetness on the exhale. These finishing notes were the stickiest, clinging to the palate for a few moments after exhale.
Purple Churro induced a slow building headchange that tamped down my anxiety, leaving me with a peaceful calm. A warming pressure moved outward from my chest, eventually becoming a heavier full-body buzz. While the mental clarity worked for focus, the heavier physical aspect made the experience a much more “hybrid” than “sativa” high.
