Review: Snickerdoodle Cookies by Enliven
Early in the legalization of cannabis in Illinois, the choices for edibles were basically gummies and chocolates. As the market developed, edibles other than gummies and chocolate became more available, but the product I had my eye set on was being created by Krown Craft Cannabis, specifically the cookies from its brand Enliven. After a long road to launch, Enliven cookies are now on dispensary menus, so I picked up three samples to review, including these Snickerdoodle Cookies.
Ten Snickerdoodle Cookies came in this large childproof pouch, and each cookie contains 10mg of THC. The cookies’ size was about equal to the diameter of a glass-container lid for eighths. Enliven also makes Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Cookies (reviews coming soon).

The aroma from the bag was heavy with sugar and cinnamon and also carried hints of vanilla. The cookie was crunchy but dissolved quickly into moist mouthful of that classic snickerdoodle flavor that matched the aroma.
One test for me when it comes to cookies is how well does the cookie take on milk. These Snickerdoodle Cookies were perfect for dunking and soaking in milk to create a softer version. The cookies took on the milk without getting too soggy and collapsing part of the cookie to the bottom of the glass, and it didn’t take long for the cookie to soak up the milk either (yes, I’ve put a lot of thought into this topic).
Another test I apply to edibles is that it has to be good enough to eat even if it was not infused, and these Snickerdoodle Cookies accomplished that. Along with the well-balanced flavor, the effects were consistent with 10mg of THC. The onset, especially if I had eaten other food beforehand, took longer than expected to kick in. The buzz was relatively clearheaded and balanced throughout the high with a hybrid-type effect of not being too up or down.
Ingredients include enriched flour, cane sugar, shortening (soybean oil, fully hydrogenated palm oil, palm oil, mono and diglycerides, TBHQ and citric acid (antioxidants), natural and artificial flavor, beta-carotene (pro vitamin A) added for color), egg, brown pure cane sugar, whole milk, vanilla flavor, cinnamon, cream of tartar, baking soda, kosher salt, sunflower lecithin, cannabis distillate, potassium sorbate. I’m looking forward to reviewing the Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Cookies, as well as any future Enliven products and the social equity cannabis infusion company out of Pekin have to offer. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
