Review: Sour Apple Gummies by Wyld
While I appreciate the tendency towards natural flavors and real fruit ingredients that permeates a certain subset of the edibles market, I have a weakness for over the top flavors of sour candy. The nostalgia of eating too many Warheads is so deeply ingrained in me that when I see the word sour in an edible, it grabs my attention. Recently, while visiting Hatch Wheeling, I spotted Wyld Sour Apple Gummies and picked up a sample to see if they scratched my sour-candy itch.
Wyld Sour Apple Gummies come as a 10 pack of 10mg gummies. The ingredients are sugar, tapioca syrup, water, apple juice concentrate, gelatin, malic acid, coconut oil, natural flavoring, citric acid, pectin (pectin, sodium citrate), cannabis extract, fruit juice (color), turmeric (color), and sunflower lecithin.

The jar was filled with small, sugar-encrusted rectangles that fell somewhere between yellow and green on the color spectrum. In the past, I’ve mentioned the resemblance of Wyld gummies to traditional mass-market gummy candies, and this particular batch was no exception. Their texture was a solid “middle” option, firmer than Jell-O-like pectin heavy gummies yet not as tough as the completely pectin-free alternatives.
The gummies emitted a sweet and creamy green apple scent upon opening the jar. In terms of flavor, they were more “tart” than “sour,” resembling the taste of a green apple Jolly Rancher candy. Towards the end, a subtle hint of cannabis bitterness was detectable. The flavor persisted for a brief period after consumption, providing a lingering effect on the palate.
Wyld Sour Green Apple set in after a half hour, providing a spacious headspace and a mood boost that lifted me into a silly irreverence. Notably, my energy levels were steady even as a heavy relaxation hit my joints and muscles.
Wyld Sour Apple Gummies heavy body/light headspace combo was a good fit for subduing mental worries and body pain at the end of the day without putting me to sleep. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
