Review: Stardust Live Resin by Bullet Train Extracts
Concentrate production is an art in and of itself. While it’s true that the flower going into the process will affect the quality of whatever comes out, growing and extracting are completely different worlds. That’s why the approach I see from so many Illinois cultivators makes sense, spinning off concentrate production into its own standalone label. Bullet Train Extracts is just such a label from the team at Justice Cannabis Co.
I picked up this Stardust Live Resin at Trinity Compassionate Care (on University), and I was excited to try my first Bullet Train extract and see what the label had to offer. Stardust is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Chemdog, Key Lime Pie, and Northern Lights.

This batch of live resin tested at 76.35% THCa, 1.86% THC, 1.33% CBGa, and 80.37% total cannabinoids. Total terpenes reached 3.87% and led with β-myrcene, limonene, β-caryophyllene, α-pinene, caryophyllene oxide, and linalool.
This gram came as a glistening mound of honey colored sugar. Bullet Train Extracts packages its grams in a box with a cutout that allowed me to look into the glass slick from the bottom, a consideration that I enjoyed. There was significant enough moisture content that the mound of sugar gave some “bounce back” when prodded with my tool, and it clumped together easily for simple dosing.
The aroma from the jar opened with a tangy berry note, reminiscent of fresh summer strawberries. Under that dominating tang, I found gentle hints of fresh roses, lime zest, and a flash of sharp cleaner and diesel, surely a sign of the Chemdog genetic roots at play.
When vaporized, the strawberry continues to rule the flavor roost followed by flashes of the diesel and then an herbal, almost vegetal flavor that I didn’t detect on the nose appeared.
I felt the effects in my body first with a tingling euphoria that sustained itself throughout the experience. I also noticed a profound lightness throughout and the joint pain that I usually feel as the result of a car accident more than a decade ago was completely relieved. My mindscape relaxed but never became “hazy” or “cloudy,” and I found myself ready to get to work.
This strain by itself wasn’t inherently motivating, but the strong pain and anxiety relief it delivered was. Overall, I enjoyed the deep flavor and heavy physicality of the Stardust live resin. and I’m excited to try more from Bullet Train. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
