I’ve written about my fondness for Strawberry Cough many times, and I always grab anything on the Illinois market that carries the cultivar’s name. Craft infuser High 5ive recently released a vape cart that fit the bill, so I picked up one to review.

High 5ive Strawberry Cough vape is a distillate-based oil infused with cannabis derived terpenes. This batch of oil tested at 0.4% CBD and 89.46% THC.

The vape was a basic glass tank with a metal coil and a white ceramic mouthpiece. The oil inside was sunflower yellow with a crystal-clear transparency and a thick viscous consistency at cool temps and a thinner, faster bubble once warmed up.

Herbal from the outset, layers of thyme, oregano, and parsley interplayed above undertones of green bell pepper, tart unripe berries, and fresh carrots. The tart/sweet blend of unripe berries and fresh carrots was very sticky, clinging to the tongue for several minutes post exhale.

The come up moved so quickly it induced a racy runaway train of thought and a wave of tingling. This euphoric sensation and increase in brain activity reached its zenith by the 30-minute mark, leaving a calm, open headspace behind. The tingling remained present as very light waves of sensation that came and went for the next hour. While the come up undoubtedly fit the sativa billing, the rest of the experience hit as a mid-spectrum functional hybrid.
