Review: Strawberry Cough X Slimer OG by Rythm
Strawberry Cough was the first named cannabis strain I ever sampled. I still remember the excitement. I simply couldn’t believe it really smelled like fresh strawberries. One encounter and I was hooked. Anytime I come across the classic berry strain or it’s genetics out in the world, I have to grab it. That’s what motivated my latest pickup from Consume Marion: Strawberry Cough X Slimer OG by Rythm.
Strawberry Cough X Slimer OG is a balanced hybrid cross. This eighth tested at 24.05% THCA and 25.75% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene, and limonene.
This eighth contained many smaller flowers that were all noticeably trimmed very thin and long, reminiscent of tiny spruce trees. These buds were bright green with a light presence of orange hairs. The trichome covering had taken on a much more golden amber tone than frosty white.
The aroma in the jar was sweet on the front with fresh berries, lavender, and honey appearing over a mix of heavy skunk and rich earth. The berry flavor became less ripe and more “green” when smoked, and the skunky earth tones came to the front.
Tingly, euphoric, and wide open, this strain fell more on the sativa than indica side of the spectrum. The calm headspace allowed for increased focus, and I enjoyed dosing with Strawberry Cough X Slimer OG before starting writing and technical work.
Overall, the strain tasted great and punches above its weight class as a high flying sativa than a middling hybrid.
