Review: The Comet eRig by Ooze
The main reason I was slow in getting into concentrates was because I didn’t want to handle a glass rig and a torch while completely blown out. Also, I don’t get to smoke with others very often, and while at home, I have to be discreet. Vapes work well, but sometimes I need a rig-size rip that most vapes can’t provide. Enter the Comet eRig by Ooze.
The Comet has been my favorite toy for these last few weeks. It is portable and can be stored easily for discreetness. Say, on the top shelf behind a thin set of books. The Comet is perfect for someone like me who dabs alone and is usually in a hurry. I can pull the handheld device off the top shelf for quick session and return it, just as I could with a bong. Or I can pack it up in its box for easy travel and nights away from home.
The Comet kit includes a 1200 MAH battery with precise temperature control, which can reach 710°F in just few seconds. The Comet has a five second warm up and continues heating for twenty seconds before cutoff. Inside the bottom of the battery is a built-in silicon stash jar for concentrate, extract, or essential oils. The bottom of the device is a magnetic stand to help keep it upright and secure.
The kit includes a water bubbler glass attachment, stainless steel carb cap, magnetic ceramic dab tool, micro USB charger, and a user manual. The Comet also comes with a quarts nail, a ceramic nail, and a titanium nail. Click the power button three times. The red light will flash. After five seconds the red light will turn green, and I place my concentrate inside the coil, wait twenty seconds, then rip. After a few dabs, it was easy to gauge the exact amount to dab and the timing for the biggest hit.
When done, I click the power button three times, place it back on the shelf, and move on about my business. For this lone dabber, the Comet has been a great addition to a new quicker mode of medicating while remaining discreet. It’s not made for a smoke session that includes several people, but as a personal-use device, the Comet has been perfect for me. I recommend it for anyone who does not want the hassle of torches but still want to use a rig for personal use and travel.
