Review: Three Vape Carts by Kanha
As more craft flower and infuser licenses come online, more labels are hitting Illinois dispensaries shelves than ever before. Kanha is one of the newest additions, offering a range of fast-acting and standard gummies and a line of vape carts. I recently spotted the vapes at Nature’s Treatment of Illinois Milan and picked up the Tropical Trainwreck, Creamsicle, and Raspberry Skywalker vape carts to review.
Kanha vapes are distillate infused with botanically derived terpenes. The Tropical Trainwreck tested at 87.25% THC. The top three indicated terpenes were terpinolene, limonene, and β-caryophyllene. The Raspberry Skywalker tested at 0.6% CBDa and 86.79% THC. The top three indicated terpenes were limonene, β-caryophyllene, and β-myrcene. The Creamsicle tested at 86.22% THC. The top three indicated terpenes were β-myrcene, α–pinene, and limonene.
All three carts came in a simple glass tank half-gram vape cart with a black ceramic mouthpiece. Classic and easy to use, these fit any standard 510-threaded battery. The oil inside was a consistent golden yellow across all three carts with a glasslike clarity and topped by an almost imperceptible line of headspace.
The top end of the Tropical Trainwreck was a surprisingly accurate facsimile of pineapple juice with less sweet tones of lemon rind and basil appearing less intensely as the finish but sticking to the palate longer than the sweet-pineapple tone at the beginning. Despite the sweet open, the cart was more natural tasting and less heavy handed than many botanically flavored vapes on the market. The Raspberry Skywalker was more aggressively sweet with a tangy top end of natural ripe raspberry, followed by hints of sweet-lemon candy and notes of herbal-leaf tone at the finish. Raspberry Skywalker was less “sticky” than the Tropical Trainwreck and left a clean palate after exhale. Creamsicle was exactly what the name promised with a blend of sweet orange and cream dominating the experience. The Creamsicle had the least staying power on the palate making it the most discrete.
There were definite and clear differences between the experiences of all three carts. Tropical Trainwreck delivered a tight headband immediately that could be deceptively heavy at first. Euphoric tingling quickly reversed that heaviness as a mental clarity and light energy boost took over on the back half. Raspberry Skywalker was much more dazing, delivering a directionless blank-slate-style mental frame. A wave of pressure weighed down my arms and chest, reinforcing the mental buzz. Creamsicle was by far the most indica leaning, delivering an overwhelming wave of tiredness that became a strong case of the munchies after roughly 20 minutes. There was a lot of range here from Kanha, and distillate customers will be able to find something that will suit them well.
