Review: Triple Seven’s Sunset Octane by Columbia Care
By @Medsforheads
I’m back with an Illinois brand Illinois News Joint has not yet reviewed: Columbia Care‘s Triple Seven flower. I procured from Greengate Chicago an eighth of Sunset Octane, a hybrid cross of Sunset Sherbert and High Octane OG Bx3.
Sunset Octane, testing at 23% THC, brought plenty of gassy goodness from the first sniff to the last billowing exhale. The dense, asteroid-like nugs in the eighth had a fresh and pungent aroma, similar to a lawnmower spewing grass clippings and exhaust, tinged with scintillating Sherb that filled the air as they were dismantled into my grinder.
Stately forest greens and white-gold trichomes colored the rocky buds elegantly, though bag appeal was hardly this flower’s strongest suit. The top three terpenes listed on the package were limonene, caryophyllene and myrcene, a typical OG profile that elicited mood improvement, limbering of the spine, and a rise in appetite.
Plus, feeling the bronchodilation effect of the flavorful smoke rushing into my lungs and pushing outward made smoking Sunset Octane an asthmatic’s delight. The taste was deeply familiar but hard to describe, with confluent notes of sour lemon, caramelized rosemary, damp cave air and straight fuel.
After a satisfying serving of Sunset Octane, I found myself both zoned out and generally enthused, relieved of inhibitions and ready for a brisk walk outside with no destination.
Overall, I recommend this strain for medical patients suffering from depression or back pain, as well as partygoers and socialites trying to loosen up, granted they don’t mind staring at the cosmos mid-mingle.
