Review: Tropical Fruit and Blue Raspberry Gummies by Smokiez
While multi-state label Smokiez has brought a huge list of flavors and options to the state, I’ve only had the opportunity to sample a couple flavors until now. I recently stopped at Emerald Dispensary and Lounge in Island Lake and picked up five new flavors to review, starting with Blue Raspberry and Tropical Fruit.
Smokiez Blue Raspberry and Tropical Fruit Gummies came as 10-packs of gummies with 10mg of THC per piece. Larger than a quarter at just over an inch across and a third-of-an-inch thick, each gummy was larger than a standard 10mg chew, and it was difficult to eat more than one or two at a time. Translucent ocean blue for the Blue Raspberry and bright orange for the Tropical Fruit, both flavors came covered with a light dusting of sugar and were dry to the touch. The chews were firm at first but took on a moist and chewy classical gummy texture.

Both flavors were direct. The Blue Raspberry was a classic version of the sweet and tangy artificial flavor, while the Tropical Fruit carried a hint of orange zest at the front followed closely by a blend of mango, papaya, and pineapple. There was a light herbal bitter tone following each flavor that clung to the tongue for a couple minutes post gummy.
Smokiez labels the Blue Raspberry as indica and the Tropical Fruit as sativa, but the effects were very similar. Initially, a tight headband pressure set in at my crown, soon moving on to the rest of my body, wiping away any muscle pain as it grew. My headspace was wiped clean of anxiety, and a quiet calm took over my mind for the better part of an hour. Smokiez delivered a classic edible experience in a mass-market gummy package.
The Blue Raspberry ingredients were beet sugar, corn syrup, pectin, (pectin, sucralose, citric acid, sodium citrate), natural and artificial flavoring, FD&C blue 1, soy lecithin, cannabis extract (distillate), and cannabis terpenes. The Tropical Fruit ingredients were beet sugar, corn syrup, pectin (pectin, sucralose, citric acid, sodium citrate), natural and artificial flavoring, FD&C yellow 6, soy lecithin, cannabis extract(distillate), and cannabis terpenes.
